PROCESS

INITIAL CONSULATION

CastleGate offers a cost and obligation free first consultation.  This first meeting is used to get to know each other a little and discuss the project.  Many aspects of the process are covered including timing, pricing, and expectations.

We discuss the desired floorplan concepts, the idea images and sketches and discuss many of the details of where we'll go with the plans.

PHASE 1

Once the client has decided to move forward with their custom home project, CastleGate then begins the initial design development.  This process includes incorporating the ideas and concepts from the client into an initial floorplan.

We put together the overall footprint, as well as the initial rough draft of the interior layout.  This first set of rough plans are designed just to make sure that we are all on the same page.

Phase 1 usually takes about 2 weeks to complete.

PHASE 2

During Phase 2 (the Redline Phase) we walk you through the all the items you want to change, make the changes and send you new versions of the plans.  Throughout this process, we provide design and constructability input.

Phase 2 can take anywhere from just a couple of weeks to many months depending on your needs.  We work at our clients' speed.

At the end of Phase 2, you will have a set of plans that you love!

PHASE 3

Once you absolutely love the plans and are ready to move forward, we will then begin Phase 3 and add all of the information that is needed to actually build your dream home!  For example: all required dimensions, building details, section views, notes, elevations, framing plans, schedules, etc.

At the end of Phase 3, you will have a full set of construction documents that will be required by the bank, the builder, and the permitting authority.

The process is now complete and you will have a full set of Construction Documentation that you will need to build your dream home.  At this point, we advise you have engineering completed.  You can choose your own engineer who you would like to work with.  They will provide an additional set of plans that will include the structural details required.  With the final plans (provided in PDF format), you can also now finalize your decision with your chosen contractor & subcontractors.
